On February 9, 2011, New York Representative Christopher Lee was revealed to have replied to a woman's casual encounters ad on Craigslist from his personal Gmail account with a false description of himself as a 39 year-old divorced lobbyist (he's 46 and married) and a shirtless photo from his Blackberry. He quickly resigned his seat, which many found mysterious since no actual physical contact had been discovered, and other Congressmen have stayed in office after doing much worse (see David Vitter). More revelations surfaced that Lee had a reputation for two-timing, and that he, a supporter of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," had also been searching online for crossdressers and transsexuals.
